Thomas E. Nugent - Area of Expertise: Investments

Tom has over thirty-seven years of investment-related experience as well as having served in fifteen expert witness cases. His background includes management of two regional bank trust investment departments where he supervised over twenty portfolio managers, securities analysts and traders. He has also managed mutual fund and institutional portfolios for a New York mutual fund company and a West Coast banking institution. He currently works for a West Coast retirement planning company and oversees the design of asset allocation portfolios of mutual funds.

In addition to portfolio management, investment professional supervision and securities analysis, Mr. Nugent has also written extensively about economic and investment matters. His articles have appeared in such publications as the Wall Street Journal, National Review Online and for the private clients of Kudlow & Company.

Tom graduated with a Masters of Business Administration from Rutgers University with majors in finance and economics. He did his undergraduate work at Seton Hall University acquiring a Bachelor of Science degree in mathematics.

 

Joseph C. Walter Jr. - Area of Expertise: Commercial Banking

Mr. Walter has thirty-eight years of experience in the commercial banking industry. His experience spans a multitude of banking-related responsibilities including branch management, head of commercial lending, new business development, and workouts of problem loans. As a Senior Vice President and Market Manager, he was responsible for the management of four regional loan centers where his duties included business development, customer relationship retention and expansion. He was involved in all aspects of the loan approval process.

In Mr. Walter's last five years of employment, he was a Senior Vice President of a Pennsylvania regional bank where he had full responsibility for a region consisting of five community offices where he had responsibility for approving commercial loans up to $1 million, business development and dealing with deteriorating credit issues.

Mr. Walter graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from Delaware Valley College and an associate degree in Administrative Accounting from Peirce Junior College.

Areas of expertise include bank mortgages, lending and risk management, loan operations, real estate finance, credit and collections, and related financial services.
